CORNELIUS, NC — Last week the Lake Norman area ran through the gamut of weather conditions, from near 70-degree highs, to torrential rains and high winds and even a dusting of snow. This week will be another eventful week for weather, according to forecasters, who say another round of heavy rain is coming this way.

“Another storm system will bring heavy rainfall to the area this afternoon through tonight, especially in the mountains,” the National Weather Service said in a hazardous weather outlook bulletin Feb. 10. “Rainfall amounts of 1 to 3 inches could fall on ground already saturated by recent rainfall.”

The heavy rain will continue throughout the week, especially Wednesday night and into Thursday, NWS said. Conditions improve significantly by Valentine’s Day on Friday, when sunny skies return.
